Gary Saposnik
After years of litigation practice, Gary saw the oncoming growth of the Internet, and has been involved with trademarks and domain names since 1997, having studied U.S. and international trademarks and their intersection with emerging domain name and Internet IP issues during the course of obtaining an LL.M, with Honors, in Intellectual Property. In his positions since then, he has guided rights owners in procuring, protecting, managing and nurturing their valuable global trademark and domain name portfolios and IP assets.
Experienced in strategizing, consulting and collaborating with members of cross-functional teams of legal, marketing, IT and all levels of management, Gary has represented client interests in most every country and territory in the world. In addition to trademark and domain name registration/acquisition/maintenance strategies, new gTLD advising, and UDRP/URS enforcement actions and other rights protection mechanisms, he has negotiated, acquired and brokered domain names on behalf of clients, from small to 7-figure acquisitions.
Gary has served as Chair and Vice-Chair of the International and U.S. Trademark Committees of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago. Gary currently lives in the Los Angeles area, and welcomes a duffer round of golf, along with enjoying hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains, bike riding, and attending live music.
